I couldn’t bring Lascher @ Large to the public without some help from a variety of efforts, so I think it’s fair to note some of the tools I’ve used to bring this Web site to you — tools which are available to anyone else who’d like to join in the discussion as well. Where possible, I’ve turned to open-source technology, technology developed in the spirit of creativity and constantly advancing knowledge. I’ve also tried to work with companies who work to lessen their carbon footprint and other demands on our planet and society.
This site is hosted by Affordable Internet Services Online, whose servers and offices are powered by on-site solar panels. The company also takes other measures to cut down on its energy demands.
Lascher @ Large is managed in WordPress. It was designed by me using the Atahualpa theme as a starting point.
The font used in the header was MyUnderwood, designed by Mike Tension. The font was obtained at dafont.com
I’ve relied heavily on information from the WordPress Codex to solve my numerous conundrums putting this site together. I also am slowly but surely learning html and very limited amounts of CSS thanks to the invaluable (yet free) tools and information at w3schools.com.
Finally, I use OpenOffice for nearly everything I need to get done on my computer off the Web. OpenOffice is a fantastic, extensible package of office and productivity software that, I think, easily rivals Microsoft Office. Likewise, I browse the Web using FireFox.
This Web site is powered by procrastination.
